OK, I've done the rear AC blend door replacements (twice), so I've got my badge for that....

Mechanic says small oil leaks at pan gasket, oil sensor gasket. Watch oil levels, if it gets over a Half dollar size on the driveway overnight, $450 to replace the 10 year old gaskets. Trustworthy guy. Daughter driving the truck locally so I'm going into the "check oil every 2 days" mode for now.

How difficult to replace these gaskets myself? Any special tools needed?

I wrench a 1930 Model A and 1963 Impala, so I'm a better than average shade tree mechanic, and I'm used to the mess of lubrication systems.

Thanks

THIS IS WHY it is a $450 job. Completly doable though.

Once you get the pan off it's the usual business of cleaning both surfaces, adding the new gasket and\or silicone, adding new oil. I would do both jobs at the same time.

Also, the gasket at the oil filter is in need of repair. I'm assuming this isn't a problem either.

you mean the gasket that is attached to the oil filter when you buy it? Or the extended cooling part?

If it's just the OF gasket, but a new filter and clean the surfaces.
