A while back started having issues with my 03 4.6 Expy, got check charge system message, and batt light came on, well check battery which was bad and checked the alternator which was good, also change alter. wire harness per TSB from Ford but still getting same message and battery light, what next?

How knowledgeable are you with DC electric circuits? Do you have a dmm and know how to use it?

I can use one

The next time the message appears read the charging voltage on the battery posts and again with the high beams, ac and blower motor on high. Take the readings at idle and at 1500rpm. Charging range is 13.5 - 14.5 volts DC.

Forgot to mention the TSB also said to have the PCM reprogrammed after replacing the wire harness, think that could be the problem, I will check the voltage asap

I've been working under the assumption the alternator was good, according to Advanced Auto I finally got a day off and took it off and took it to my local alternator shop and they said it was bad so I am getting it rebuilt(on a budget here) then see what we got

Alternator is on and so far so good
