i can either send back my caliper covers for refund or hold on to them until i get the right adapters/spacer for my truck...

in the mean time...if i was to paint my calipers...do i need to take them off to do it?

i think i'm going to hold on to the covers...THEY'RE TOO FLY!!!

If you keep the calipers on, you'll have to brush paint on them.

But if you take them off, you can spray paint them. :)

I guess I was thinking of getting paint in the rotor slots? iduno... if I had a rig like that I just take them off & save fuss of masking / clean-up time... (whatever hassle that would be) Of course the best senario would be if you needed to change pads out at the same time...

What color? something that blends or pops?

I laughed when we did the brakes on my brother's SportTrac and he pulled out that Duplicolor kit to paint the rotors. I'm thinking the stuff will flake off in a month.

But...

That was over 3 years ago and they still look fantastic.

You do not have to remove them. If u get paint on the rotor the friction and heat will burn it off. They did it on my wife's flex and I've done it on other cars.

x2. Had mine pained last Friday and it took maybe 48 hours for the paint to come off the rotors. Made a horrible noise every time I hit the breaks and scared everyone else on the road I'm sure but it burns off quick.

yup you can paint them with the rotors on.... best thing is to tape off as much as possible and use plastic bags and rags to cover as much as you can to minimize overspray.... but it is very simple just prep and clean the rotors well before you spray... and as everyone said overspray on the rotors will come off...
