There probably is a thread somewhere covering this question for 2nd gen Expys already. If so, please point me in the right direction as I haven't been able to find it yet.

If not, here's my question: ever since installing a new battery and replacing the corroded terminal connector, I've had the PATS on my car go off. It happens every time I unhook the battery and occasionally after unlocking the doors. I'm only using the OEM key. After unhooking the battery, I have to go through the procedure of putting the key into the door lock, turning and leaving it for 50+ seconds to shut up the PATS. In case of the random set-offs, putting it into the ignition has sufficed in a couple of cases.

What is the issue here and how do I fix it? Affix the OEM key near the ignition lock and use a spare or replace a module?

This isn't a huge issue for me but I'm trying to avoid my wife running into this on trips with our baby. Thx

Thought I'd post an update here after investigating further in case this helps someone. I have a U1262 code that I can't get cleared indicating wiring, IC or PCM. There are no visible issues with the IC. I haven't tested any pins on the PCM yet but already have an idea of the very likely possible culprit. (Corroded battery terminal that broke and caused the 4-5 seconds of erratic "on/off" connection loss before I got it off completely)

I haven't tested any pins yet but instead reset the PCM. The PATS hasn't come on again and otherwise worked fine (programmed 2 keys, no errors in ForScan). I'll keep monitoring.
