Buying a 2009 XLT expedition el 4x4 from private used car dealer. They had decent reviews on multiple sites, including bbb.

Took it to Ford service today to inspect for problems. They reported multiple codes with passive antitheft system (PATS). I attached picture of codes and meaning. And that someone tried to clear the codes to hide them recently. May have been done prior to current seller.

The remote key works fine locking/unlocking and lights flash properly. Do not know if PATS us useful, critical, codes are ignorable, may lead to other problems, etc...

Codes also could have been cleared by current seller

Just my opinion but I wouldn't do anything until the P1000 code is cleared

The downfall of PA inspections is that re-inspection isn't required when the vehicle changes ownership
It is dependent on the date of the current inspection stickers Which are good for 1 year
