Nearing the point of making some upgrades and want to gather some info. First will be new tires. Only about 33k on the Pirellis. 6/32" left in the center, shoulders rounding and side walls are cracking. Looking into LT tires? Also thinking about upgrading brakes and maybe adding a chip.

We are on our 2nd Expedition. First was a 1999 Eddie Bauer. Now a loaded 2011 XLT. Leather, sun roof, Nav., Serius, tow pkg, 20s. Wife uses as a daily driver. I use it for hauling a dirt bike and camping in Colorado. I use a hitch hauler to carry my bike... All toungue weight...

On my last outing, I aired the Pirellis to 39 psi. And she handled much better then at 34 psi! So, hopefully I can get another year out of them.

I've found that the Hawk LTS pads and Centric rotors help a LOT on the brake feel. I have an EL and its had a squishy pedal since I had it. With the new pads and rotors that's in the past. Consider that if you're looking a brakes anytime soon.

For tires, I've always liked Firestone Destination ATs. They were a really good compromise between on road and off road. Others here like their Nittos. Now I have Destination LE2s on the Expy (thinking that I was doing mostly highway) and wish I had done the ATs again.

To me, Terra Grapplers are one the best AT tires out there. Good traction on and off the road. And for the brakes, you can depend on the stopping power of Hawk and EBC pads
