Not bad for a F n Outrageous Road Demon

My former '03 got 13.5 in the city. 16 on highway 2 whl drive 4.6

I do have a heavy foot on the highway but I try to use the efficiency gauge in town.

I am curious about this too. I think it would also be handy to know what engine and if it's 4 or 2 wheel drive.

Depends on who's driving...I average about 16 city and 19-20 HWY...the wife gets 13 city. She idles EVERYWHERE and starts it up 30 minutes before she's ready to leave in the morning....and she didn't want a diesel.

Man.. I would love to add a cool throaty exhaust system like you did. Did you duel it out and get more power too?

Is it too loud for a family hauler guy like me? I had pipes added on my F 150 and the exhaust guy said the SUV would get too much interior noise and didn't recommend it. That was 6 years ago maybe upgrades are available now.

I'll try to keep this somewhat relevant to the topic.

Sadly its just a replacement pipe to the stock 2.5 system, I wouldn't recommend the pipe if you do a lot of hwy driving or if you wife, or my case mother, can't stand a slight drone in low gear. Don't straight pipe, a simple $20 glaspak can save you quite the ticket and it mutes the tinner noises.

The only reason put on this muffler was for my gas mileage experiment on this car, which im still working on (a city average of 16 and hwy of 22 and up.) The expeditions built with two plates of steel and has 500 lbs of dampening, you barely notice a thing around the city or on 45/50 mph roads, but after that, it starts to get a miserable drone in 4th especially at 80 on the highway. When you get on it you (and the cops) do REALLY hear your 2750-5300 rpm range.

So if you want a good 1.5 mpg average better or so and a louder sound outside the truck, go for it! but w/o a CAI you won't get as loud of a sound.

5.4 with 4x2.. I get about 16mpg on freeway with normal driving and 18mpg on freeway if I accelerate/drive slower. I never drive more then a mile off the freeway so I dont know my city mpg. Mods are listed below. I wish I could add exhaust to get better mpg and power, but I dont like the noise
