Power running board stuck

@Tiger Bob Yeah, this. Settings menu should have an option to keep them deployed. Even the aftermarket boards have an always-deployed setting.

This setting isn't permanent, it reverts back after a key cycle. Not sure if it can be changed in Forscan or not.

It appears chevy/gm uses the same running boards and have the same problems, I launched a boat the other day with brand new chevy 3500 and the passenger running board wasn't working. It looked just like the one on the ford. The guy was miffed cause the truck only has 6000 miles and already isn't working.

Holy crap! Good to know. I used the setting once while I was trimming the wheel well liners. I'd hate to be working under the car when the kids open a door after the setting unknowingly resets!

My 2019 Platinum can be set to stay up, down or auto permanently. I'm set to auto.
With that said, I have never had any issues with my running boards. I do go to the auto car wash weekly, so they stay clean. And I routinely grease them.

On my 2024, I can extend the running boards manually, but they automatically retract at speeds over 3 mph in forward or reverse.

With that said, I have never had any issues with my running boards. I do go to the auto car wash weekly, so they stay clean. And I routinely grease them.

Mine doesn't appear permenant, I put them out when I get to the car wash. Then after washing and I start the car back up they go up once I start driving and just revert to the "Auto" mode.

I suspect if I washed mine more often they would work better but we do a fair bit of dirt roads, some mud, and salt on the roads here and mine need some tlc a few times a year.
