So i lost one of my retrofitted headlights in a accident where someone cut me off and got tboned nearly. Have been using standard oem light in the side where my retrofit was busted.

I eventually reached out to someone else mod me a set of lights, since i have no time to get it done. Used aftermarket projector headlights, had him retrofit each light with a pair of projectors.

previous set with fxr3.0 with osram cbi bulbs

current set of headlights with dual morimoto mh1 6.0 and 4300k bulbs.

still finishing up the install, so no output pics yet, but they are better then my previous set.

HID Illusionz - HID Illusionz thats where i found him, turns out that he was local, so it made it somewhat easier. His pricing seemed cheap compared to some other modders i've been in contact with. Retrofits are not for everyone. thats for sure.

its not cheap
but bulbs can be replaced easily

Yeah I would guess that getting a properly done conversion costs way more than those cheap ones you see all over the streets.

So if I understand correctly, I'd have to take out my headlights, mail them, they'd put the new lights into the old headlamp assembly, and then they mail them back to me?

So I guess I'd have to add the cost of having a rental vehicle for a few weeks too.

Unless u got cash like that I'd buy another set and send them off...retrofitting will start at $400 easily and up from there

Sorry man, I've got a few more questions.

Is this kind of a plug and play kind of retrofit? I just put the new headlights in and plug them into the existing harness and away I go? Or do I have to hack into the trucks wiring at all?

Is there any significant difference in sending them aftermarket headlights or oem ones, other than cost?

I was kind of thinking it was more like $1000 and up, so if its only $400 I'm sold, lol.

no hacking required, they give you a relay harness to install.
i chose aftermarket because i wanted quad projectors

oem ones are a pain in the ass to open, and could cost more money to work with.

Mine were retrofitted...instead of the amber cover it was removed...paid $400 for the retrofit and ccfl halos...I am going to buy another set aftermarket and have them worked on...the ones I will get cost just under $200...and about $450 parts and labor for green plasma halos on remote to strobe...dim...breathe...plus other green leds
