Hey y'all, I'm in need of the radiator upgrade that comes with the HD tow package on these EL Expy's, mine did not come with the HD tow package but I will be towing a bigger travel trailer eventually ( currently only tow a popup trailer which is very light ). I'll be around 5,000lbs to 6,000lbs on trailer weight, so I want to get the beefier radiator if anyone has a link to it? any tips on the differences so I know that i'm not getting ripped off? I assume it shouldn't be too bad to swap out.
I also need to do the trans cooler, not sure if that is more complicated and may need to pay a dealer to install? still need to look into that one. Any other upgrades that I should be doing? I already have new powerstop brake pads front and back ( red EVO or w/e they are called, like a step up or two from the basic ones i've seen ), not sure if these fords have bigger rotors that I can buy and install?
lastly there's the issue with the trailer pigtail, but I had seen someone did a wiring job on theirs and converted it into a 7pin connector, so i'll be exploring that as well ( gotta have those trailer brakes of course ). I appreciate any help, thanks!
My expy has 166k miles on it, new air ride suspension ( strut and bags are new assemblies ), so I feel i'm in a solid platform to haul a mid sized travel trailer ( probably keep it about 27 ft or less, and under 6k lbs tow weight ).
