See here's the thing I don't understand, maybe I'm dense, but doesn't oil get sludgy and dirty as miles progress running through these motors? Now I know full synthetics are lab rats of motor oils, so they take a lot to break down. But somebody school me on this. If you've got tiny passages on lifters, bearing main caps, and so on that your required to run a 5/w20 oil, which is like h20, then running dirty oil, anything above say 5k, has got to spell trouble, and seems to the longer I'm on this forum. Growing up in the late 50's and 60's, we had a 53 Pontiac wagon with a 268 straight eight motor. That motor didn't use a oil filter at all, it used a catch sludge shelf in the oil pan, that was only to be cleaned if pan was removed. Story short, motor dumped at 80k. My family drove vehicles till they died. Didn't know engines yet, I was still riding my sting ray bike. I'm with the majority, like your body, keep it clean, and changed!
