wow, lots of good information to digest...

fun, i agree that trading in really isnt that great of an option, as my rig is paid for! i would love an f250 but it will have to wait until expy becomes toy.

toms, sorry about the confusion. i was reading it wrong! haha

thermo, did not know that wrong speedo would throw off shift points. never thought of that. i have been trying to keep the truck at around 2k rpm for the past couple days. gonna keep doing it for awhile if i can. yes, she does want to shift at higher RPM, even if i am baby-ing it. sometimes it will take awhile to shift from 2nd to 3rd if i am just putzing along. i could definitely firm up the shift points! i feel a little better that your calculations put me at around 11! i just need to order an Edge, maybe i can get one for xmas! question, does the edge actually calibrate the speedo? if i were to plug the edge in, recalibrate, then unplug would my speedo still be calibrated?

nvycrmn, to the best of my knowledge, the edge is actually modifying the pulses going to the ECM (the number of pulses is directly related to the speed of the truck, more pulses, faster speed). So, once you unplug the Edge unit, your speedo will have the same error. Now, it may be possible to get into the Edge and shoot a new number to the ECM to correct the speedo to a certain point. But, with the size tires that you have, the factory ECM is not capable of being adjusted enough to 100% correct the speedo indication.

If you want more info on this, let me know.

When I disconnect my EDGE the settings stay the same... when you plug in the edge it asks you a few setting (actual tire size, gears) then you can choose the setting and it removes the stock files off the ECM and rewrites the ECM with the new settings... that is why when you go to a dealer you need to return it to stock so that you don't lose your tune... otherwise your edge will only have your stock setting... another reason it takes about 5-10min to change performance levels on the edge... but the shift points changing helps a lot and its so smooth even with my 37s... and the speedo is dead on with my GPS... so I can average 12s in the city and 14 on the highway... and hoping more once I get my 4.88s

edge is vin locked. which is kinda lame cause what if you want to put it on 3 of your trucks? you have to buy 3 edges.

insta-readout on the overhear console reads 16.4(avg) . the highest it's ever been is 16.6
It will cruise at 70 and reads 18mpg. could mine be an odd one out? or is it more likely that the overhead console is off calibration.
