I have a 2016 Expedition and the rear heat does not work. It will work with AC and there is air blowing when on for the heat but it is not heat but just air. Anything I should look at first before taking to the mechanic..

It is most likely that the rear temperature blend actuator has failed. It can be common on some Expeditions..
Do you hear a knocking noise coming from the rear as well? That is the most common way they fail.
To test the actuators, pry off the tray that is on top of the panel where the rear unit is. Take a screwdriver and put the metal end up to one of the actuators, and the bottom end of the screwdriver up to you ear. Have someone change the temp from hot to cold (and vice versa), while you listen for movement. You will hear a "whirring" noise. Do the same for the other actuator.
