I didn't get any interest on the electronics section so I'll try here.

I want to install a car camera( like a dash camera) on my rear glass. I need a switched hot wire back there around the rear door. Any suggestions on an existing switched circuit I can tap into?
I have a dash cam up front.
I have a 2007 Expedition EL Limited.

Yes I have a rear view backup camera already in stalled.
I have a recording dash camera that I want to install recording scenes behind my car and starting when the car is started and shutting down when the ignition switch is turned off.
I am trying to avoid having to run a dedicated wire from the front fuse box to the back door to power the camera.

Oh that's super easy just run it along the headliner or under the door sills

Faster & easier that way

Plenty of space there and it'll only take you a few minutes to install.

It's a Ford, trim panels are easy on/ easy off (and pretty damn hard to screw up in the process)

So how'd it go? Did you find the Trailer battery charge wire? I'm looking to install a rear facing dash cam as well and would love to hear how it worked out for you before tackling this project myself.

Yes but mine was orange... Appears Ford used orange or Black for battery charging. Also Ford at build time did not install the relay necessary to power the wire. If this is the case with yours go on line to buy it. Ford wants $45-$49 for it.
Snaking a wire up to the top of the door is the worse part but I managed to get it done. I am finishing the job this week after taking some vacation.

Ummm, it appears someone has posted my diagrams without attribution... :)

These are for the 2007 model and may, or may not, work for later models.
