Longer shocks aren't really needed unless you go over 3" of spacer but wouldn't hurt. The current shocks usually have about 6 to 10" of travel at stock length. Once you get the spacers in place and bolt the shocks back up, the spacers can't come loose even if the frame is lifted with a car jack etc. Even factory height with the spring alone, it is because the shocks are bolted in place that keeps the frame and springs from seperating. The spacers will make it even harder for the frame to even come close from seperating from the spring/spacer combo, cause it will be a tighter fit .Scott

I got the 3" spacers and I am going to try and put them on myself, with some help from one of my friends. He suggested we get a spring compressor.

Do any of you guys know if I just unbolt my strut and trailing arm(or?) will it allow my axle to drop enough to allow me to put the spacers under the springs? Just want to know if it is really worth trying to find a place to rent a spring compressor or not.

I got my spacers on and twisted my torsion bars all the way up. I ended up renting a strut/spring compressor from Advanced auto. I jacked up the rear, took off both tires, unbolted the struts and the sway arm from both sides. I was then able to use the spring compressors on each side to smash the spring enough to get those 3 1/4 inch spacers on.

I was able to crank up the torsion bars 8 full turns on each side. For some reason the drivers side still has about 4 - 5 turns before it is maxed. Before I cranked them up I made sure to mark a starting point then count complete turns, the passenger side would max out at 8 full turns. But on the bright side it looks completely level.

After I put my 33x12.50 tires on I still had to trim about 2 inches off of the bottom of my lower air dam because of the width when turning. I will post updated pictures soon.
