Rear Door issues

So I just got my 2001 xlt and everything is working great for a truck with 260k on it, however I have noticed both rear doors intermittently do not open from inside. Essentially what I have watched happen is when the inner door handle is lifted it has a tendency to lift the child lock lever into the lock position or half way there, also noticed last night the door lock have a problem with falling into a half locked position causing outer door handles to also not function. any idea on what would correct these problems? I am thinking things just need tightened up maybe they've come lose over the years...

you may need to adjust the linkage inside of the door Do not pry door panel off remove handle and screws and lift up on the panel. Only problem if things have come loose is they are pop-riveted in place

i had that issue...sprayed some wd 40 in there and it fixed it.
