A year or more ago I received the P0299 error. I watched a few videos and they removed the innercooler to swap the blow off valve. None of that is at all necessary as I found out today because I finally got around to it.
1. Rotate the white clips 90 degrees and pull the protective cowl out of the way
2. Rotate the hose clip counter clockwise like they show in the YouTube videos
3. Use a short 8 mm socket to undue the first bolt/screw.
4. Undue the wired clip by using a screwdriver to slip under the plug (I spent more time at this than doing anything else) and pull it off
5. Use a longer 8 mm socket to remove both bolt/screws that hold in the blow off valve
6. Insert the new blow off valve
7. Reverse steps
Assuming you are less lame than me, you’ll get the plug off in seconds instead of 7 minutes. Total time should be under 15 minutes.
