So reading the 4x4 magazine some time ago and they did a deal on Tread Right retread tires. They said that they are good to go and well worth it. And I know they are used for wheeling offroad all the time and not driving on. The truck they used was a work dodge so both on and off road they said. Are retread tires worth it and more importantly safe for daily drivers?

from my experience on cars aswell as my semi... they don't last as long but the cost is worth that alone... and they have higher rolling resistance... didn't have more blow outs or flats with retreads vs. virgin rubber so it depends on the cost

the semi wore out a set of retreads in 177000 miles wear as virgins went 280000 so there is a big difference but the virgins were $350 each compared to $219 for retreads
