Retrofit Medcanical load leveling shocks to 2011

From what I can gather, the "mechanical load leveling" rear suspension on the 2014/2015 Expeditions requires no vehicle integration (electronics, pumps, etc). Nivomat Shock Absorbers: Self-Leveling Monotube Ride Control Units
Would it be possible to install these in the rear of my 2011? Has anyone tried or looked into this?

the 2014 and 2015 are the same frame and suspension, 2014 being the same as 2011 are they not?

Have you installed them? If so, how are they? Thinking about doing the same to tow w/ my 2012 Exp el.

No I haven't. Was just thinking about it so far. Rock auto shows them as $155/ea (EL1Z18125A). They "should" just be drop in replacements.

The spring will likely need to be changed to the spring that matches the new shock. My Expy doesn't have the Nivomats, but I had a Volvo Wagon that did and I'm guessing they are a similar concept.

Yes you need the springs too. Search the forum, I've posted the detailed parts list here with all needed bolts nuts, etc.
