if they are a dealer for Fabtech i would say go for it... otherwise look into any reputable shop that installs lifts.... just stay away from those fly-by-nite shops....

I went out to rms today. They seemed very nice and helpful when I arrived. He took a look at my truck and then we sat down to discuss what I wanted. He said it would normally cost about $3800 for a six inch lift but would be about $4500 because of the 4 wheel air. That includes everything that needs to be done with the front of the truck and the coilovers. If it experienced driveline vibration it would be $1300 for the front and rear. Pro Comp wheels and tires (35s) would be about $1500. It would take about 1½ - 2 weeks. What do you guys think? With a $500 deposit I could bring it in around thanksgiving.

As a side note during my 40mi trip on the LIE it said I was getting 20.5 mpg. :dancingpoop:

Is that price with the kit ? or just labour ??? The tire and rim price seems good, I might be selling my tire and rims in the spring. Is $1300 for new front and rear drivr shafts?

That's with the kit. If he said $4500 for labor.......forgot your Canadian :Big Laugh: labour I think I would have just walked out the door lol. The $1300 is for new drive shafts. Has anyone not had driveline vibration after they added a lift?

I spent a quarter of that on my new shafts. Including new flanges, they added a .. words escape me, but the new t-case gave me a SYE (if we were a Jeep), so they had to ... (fug it). had to add a slip yoke into the shaft. I know thats not the right term, but.....

$289.95... I will fly to new york, with your new shafts, and install them for $1200, shipping to me is your dime.... :smokin: ....

The price is OK if they are good , I've always done everything myself so not sure labour prices. But I just bought 6" Fabtech Kit for $1500 although no air in mine, it wwas a EBAY deal. but $2500 seems what your kit is worth other places so $2000 for labour. I'm guessing but 10 hours of labour maybe 2 guys works out to $100/hr. I guess for a good quality shop. Sucks thats alot of coin for other stuff.

That's the problem I don't know how much the labor should cost. Ive searched around google and have seen anywhere from $500 to over $1500 for the install. The the air adds another $700 apparently. If I hadn't added so much to it already it would be cheaper to trade it for one with no air ride. I wish I could do installs myself. Would save tons of money. My lack of automotive skill kills that dream.

No, that was self installed on the shafts, that is what I am saying, if the shafts are $1300, installation is an hour tops, thats smoking and drinking beer, bulshitting with your bro.. sorta thing. All the rest of it sounds about right.. the driveshaft thing seemed high

Its $1300 with installation. From what your saying that does seem high. Don't you also need some kit from fabtech when you do it? Maybe that's the difference in the price.

Yeah they have rear trailing arms . not sure what they do ,they must be longer, a know Zone lift kits move all 4 rear trailing arms in there kit. So if it includes though then not a bad price.
