I need some help. I have been experiencing rough idle and slight smell of gas. I also experience vibration/bucking between 30-40 mph... I put a scanner on it and got code 1450 "Inability of Evaporative Emission Control System to Bleed Fuel Tank". Forgive my ignorance, would this cause rough idle and engine bucking? I only get a hint of gas when i walk in the garage the next morning. I have been told the heavy vibration/bucking under load could be a bad coil.

Code 1450
Possible causes:

-- EVAP canister purge outlet tube (EVAP canister purge valve to EVAP canister) blockages or kinks.
-- EVAP canister tube (fuel tank to EVAP canister) blockages or kinks.
-- Fuel vapor elbow on EVAP canister contaminated.
-- Restricted EVAP canister.
-- Canister vent (CV) solenoid stuck closed (partially or fully).
-- Plugged or contaminated CV solenoid filter.
-- EVAP canister purge valve stuck open.
-- Fuel filler cap stuck closed (no vacuum relief).
-- VREF circuit open in fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor.
-- Damaged FTP sensor.

Let me know your thoughts..

The basics:
What year, mileage, last tune-up etc.?

FYI that I smelled gas, very infrequently, but had I known now what it was I would have acted sooner as it puked a plug; total rebuild almost 3 years ago.

Sure others will chime in.

PanHandler.
