Running Board Lights out on Driver side??

Unlocked my doors tonight and realized that my running board lights were out on the driver side. I know there is a bulb in the front and rear of the running board. I've read up on how to change them...just seems odd that both would go out at the same time? If one goes out...will it cause the other to go out on the same side?? Thanx for any reply's in advance!

or it could be you just now realized that they are out. one could have been out and you never noticed. my passenger front one is out. i didnt notice for months. i was like hey its out and my gf was like yeah its been out for months. so thats a possibilty. just change the bulbs and if it happens again there could be a short.
