My brother in law pointed out that the running boards on my 09 xlt are beige instead of black like they should be. Does anyone have any kind of input as to the validity of this. The truck is really clean and has less than 10,000 miles on it. We bought it yesterday.

The rubber piece on the tail gate is black and the pictures of the running boards on the dealerships website are black. But the running boards are not. Any insight would be helpful.

Hmmmm, according to the VIN your XLT Expy is Dark Blue Pearl so I would say somebody swapped the running boards. I believe in 09 the only ones to have beige were the Eddie Bauers and King Ranch versions
I agree with your brother in law the running boards should be black.

I would bring it back to the dealer and say WTF.

Hey Matt, yeah it looks real clean. Also looks like it might have remote start??
I would still mention it to the dealer, maybe they will try and make it right = $$$$

The link to the dealership is near and dear to my heart. That's where mine came from back in 2007 when I still lived in Pa. Good guys to deal with. As far as the boards, probably swapped at some point. And the web photos could just be "stock" photos and not the actual truck. Agree with RI and BIL, should be black.

No automatic start. Dib52 this is the 2nd vehicle we have gotten from them and I couldn't ask for a better place to do business. They are an hour an a half away from my house but when we saw that they had this expedition with such low miles we headed straight up there.

If you take them off, how 'bout Rhino Liner or some generic truck bed liner paint? Give it nice grip and should hold up nicely.

Or take them off, leave them in the garage, lift it with a 3/2, and throw on some 34"-35" rubber. They'd only get in the way anyway. :party36::party36::party36:

I can only dream. I have two kids and one on the way. I wish I had the budget to do something like that.
