2013 expedition el. We are stuck on the side of the road. The belt tore off. Waiting on son to bring new belt and tools. Honestly how difficult is it to change? What is the biggest challenge if any? Checked out some videos and seems easy enough. Thx

Does the tensioner lock into place to install belt? Or needs tension at all times?

On my 08, it tensions all the time. An extra set of hands is a help. If you don't have the special extra long wrench to swing the tensioner, link two open end box wrenches together to get extra leverage. Check that the pulleys all spin free and that none of them seized up, busting the belt. Good luck.
