Just ordered at 2022 Limited Performance Stealth Dark Matter Metallic at x-plan pricing and no dealer add ons on 2-25 got Ford confirmation email within an hour of ordering.

Wow!!! That’s great. Where are you located? We are interested in the King Ranch (standard wheelbase) but were quoted $6k OVER MSRP.

Platinum with HD trailer and E Diff. Ordered 12/18/21. Only received a “do you want to receive emails” from ford, nothing else at all from Ford since.
January 28 went to dealer, who only then provided a vin and production week of March 28th.
Checking status on Ford website shows in production but no Window Sticker.
I assume my build date has been delayed, but nothing from Ford or dealer.
Price was about $2000 under MSRP.

Just an observation: Reported “chip shortages” aside. Ford (and GM) want(s) to change their business model to get back like the old days where most cars were ordered, instead of dealers stocking them.

If this is an example of how “Ordering” a car works. I’m betting dealers who still stock cars, will be doing most of the selling.
