I have a 04 EB, and noticed something interesting. When going into reverse, I sometimes hear a "click" sound coming from the shifter column.

It's pretty much the same sound you get when you move the shifter from neutral to reverse, but it happens while reversing. Other than the sound, there are no problems with performance in the transmission.

Has anyone here experienced this "click" sound from the shifter column when going into reverse?

The only click I can think of is the one when you push in the brake pedal to shift out of park. Then again, you dont have to push the brake pedal in all the way. Pushing it in enough to where the brake lights come on should make the sound. Its basically Ford's way of preventing you from shifting our of park without the use of the brake. It guess to help with kids who play around in cars.
Does it only happen when going from neutral to reverse?
