Well today went to a park that had speed bumps and my wife forgot something at home, so off she went in my truck...while I was observing such a beautiful truck driving off...she slowed to go over these hefty speeds bumps which truly amazed me that she even saw it, let lone slow down for it...and noticed about 3 bounces in the front and 1.5 out of the back...with 85k on original shocks (police package) dont know if there a difference??? Im wondering what to put on it...truck sees NO offroad...handling is first priority and ride is second...any suggestion for what im looking for gents??

I was thinking Monro gas magnums, then I saw the Monroe reflex and my last choice would be Ranchos...

I have doing allot of research on this tonight and have read many reviews on bilsteins and people were not happy with them as far as there rebound was slow...I have been comparing specs of monro gas magnums and the reflex....I want something that will give me some handling and the ride..

Rancho and Monroe are made by the same company.
I would suggest the Rancho RS9000 adjustables that I have, but they are pricey.
I love that I can hit the wireless remote and completely change the way the truck rides.

If you're not looking for that expense and complexity...
The next suggestion would be to go with the Monroes. They are a decent shock and have a good warranty. They used to have a program where if you had them installed at a shop and then didn't like the ride, you could return them for full credit on a better set.
You may want to see if they still do that.

Alaskan...been searching reviews on those and the bilsteins...have seen many complaints on bilstiens for slow recovery time and have read a few complaints for stiffness on the kyb....I have noticed on mine on long freeway trip im constantly over compensating the steering and lane changes or curves off ramps it kind dives...I want something with that has a good handling but dont want to feel every bump in the road...I can drive my Impala for that....

These have a great reviews on Ford Truck Enthusiasts. And i plan on getting them when i do the front suspension.

I installed Edelbrock IAS shocks on mine this past spring and really like em. Huge improvement over my stock high milage ones both in handling and ride. Hard to find though?!

Good shocks right here only problem is that they are the same thing as bilstein's which are cheaper go with bilsteins they are soo widley reccommended

Whats the source of your info?? Curious because I found many reviews or comparisons between the two. The general concensus was that they both handle well but the edelbrocks have a softer ride due to the IAS and that the bilsteins have a stiff ride. Even read reviews where some had used both. I researched them before I made the purchase. Got mine off ebay for good price.

Decision

Thanks for all the input guys...But after reading all the reviews I have decided to go with the KYB Monomax for the front...and the Monroe Load Levelers on the rear Possibly....I really want to get rid of that nose dive and roll in a turn which from the reviews the Monomax should do....we shall see....shock warehouse has the best price on them..
