Hey Guy's,

I have a '01 Ford Expedition (4.6L V8). Lately I've been hearing something that sounds like sleigh bells jingling around under the vehicle and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. It only does it when I go over bumps and shortly after I go over a bump.

If sleigh bells isn't a good description then it does kinda sound like a chain dragging the ground (but there isn't one, I checked).

Any help would be appreciated.

If you take the center cap off of the rim, there is a little aluminum piece held in by a cotter key on the end of the spindle. It's dead center, take that little cap off and go for a SHORT drive to see if it stops the jingling (there is one on each of the front tires). If it does, take some aluminum foil and put it inside of the nut cap, and replace it back over the spindle nut. If that is not it, post back.

mine was the sway bar links...they were loose. I still have a little jingle and am hunting it down like you.

heres an idea, take ur rear wheels off, take off the brake rotors and check your emergency brake pads, mine broke off the mounting surface and were bouncing around making a weird sound like you describe. and I thank thermo for telling me to do that because i was going crazy trying to figure that out lol
