My 97 expy blew a plug about 8 months ago. I put another plug in at the time and it ran just fine till yesterday. The same plug blew out again. I tried to install another plug but the threads are gone gone gone. I have researched the alternatives. Engine in - re tapping ,heili-coil or new head. What do you folks think is the better idea (they all suck to me). I'd like to JB weld the plug in and sell it. However, I was not raised that way.

i hope that doesn't happen to me, the bad thread thing. i have 3 plugs blow out. i have a 5.4 2000
now i run my plugs every 4-6 weeks and use lock tite red. even then i find a loose plug once in a while. just about two months ago i was putting it off, an sure enough, another one went. so far it has always been on the drivers side. twice on the first plug once on the second and once on the third.
every since the first one blew, i keep all the tools needed and an extra plug and coil cap, cause this never happens when it is convient.
i can pull any plug in about 5 min. even the back ones on the passenger side. if you do it enough, you get pretty good at it.
