OK...asking cause there's so much/many differing posts on plugs.....
Have 117,000 miles on my 2019 Expy with most of history from previous one owner. But can't find if plugs were replaced so going to get new installed.
I run 89 for everyday driving and 91-93 when towing our travel trailer.
Expy is stock with no tunes planned...will remain stock. Runs fine now but doing replacement as a preventive measure.
Looking at the NGK LTR-7-BHX for replacement, which seems to be the right plug....based on recent posts.
Again, only asking cause there is so much differing info on proper plugs for this engine.....
Input.......

My two cents….

I always believe you can’t go wrong with the OEM recommended spark plug (and other maintenance stuff).

Spark plug usage are like engine oil filter usage - there are a many opinions.

OEM maintenance parts fit and function properly.

Yeah, just went with the MtrCraft Sp-194 per advice from the local garage that will install. Master Mechanic and advised to go OEM for just that reason. I only use OE filters and figured stay with the OE.
Funny cause the OE plugs were about .50 cents more than the highly regarded NGK's both from Rock Auto. Still, under 10 bucks where local stores get 16-20 bucks.

I ordered OEM from rock auto. Cheapest I could find by far.
Same here....delivery tomorrow. Almost 1/2 price of some others, including Amazon and auto parts stores.

Replaced the plugs today. The old appeared to be the originals (2019 Expy) with 117,000 miles on them....and they look it. But the gap was not bad, and the Expy was still running great....no miss, no problems, although I'm sure mpg suffered. The Expy was purchased by me, used, one owner, came with records but nothing showed as far a plug replacement.
Lot of grunge and build up but no oil.
Replaced with SP-594's and engine purr's.

It ain't like the old days. Plugs out at 40K, coil soon after, the plug wires next. Now with the electronic and the high voltage things last forever.

You must not be old enough to remember changing spark plugs every 8 -12 thousand miles, along with the distributor cap, points, condenser and rotor. Wires every other spark plug change. Small, inline fuel filter and PCV valve at every spark plug change. The one large ignition coil then seemed to last a long time. A stuck carburetor automatic choke could ruin a set of spark plugs quickly.

The only positive was the engine bays were large without a lot of obstructions. The work could be done quickly.

I'm old enough to remember indexing spark plugs. The inline filter was tossed for a larger canister filter, the auto choke was eliminated for a manual. I also remember swapping small block chevy points for big block points(stronger spring). I remember swapping different jets if a plug was showing rich.

My first car at age 16 was a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle 2-door with the straight six-cylinder engine and the “three on the tree” manual shift transmission.

My first job at age 15 was working in a Texaco “filling station”. We sold regular and high-test gasoline. We did sell mostly 30-weight oil, but also offered straight 40-weight oil. We had free Texaco road maps, as we were on a US-route.
