SPD Exhaust

Apparently the guys at SPD are putting together exhaust packages for our trucks. This guy posted his pre-release setup and it actually sounds pretty good.

Sounds decent at idle but the second they give it any gas it then sounds pretty bad. I notice they barely give it any gas in the video. I am going to wager it sounds absolutely horrendous with any heavy throttle.
One thing that sucks about these V6 trucks opening up the exhaust can net some really good power but man do they sound like garbage.

certainly a good looking product. Really like the dual tip side exit.
Wonder if they’ll make just a rear resonator delete kit.

Here is their F150 exhaust. Not much is going to change in sound.


Not a chance in the world I’d put that on mine. I have enough power for my needs. Building a race truck or something and need all the power I can get you deal with the awful sound but no way I am headed to car line to pick up the boys with my truck sounding like a wet fart. But it is not just SPD it is every exhaust for these motors. Just don’t have enough cylinders for that deep solid exhaust note.

there is a full video of the same Expedition exhaust idling and under power in a Facebook group (ecoBoost enthuasiast, maybe).

its a much deeper sound than the f150, not nearly as much whistle

They got that thing that plays V8 sound through the audio system. Maybe they should mount speakers on the vehicle exterior so you can broadcast the sound you want to the world around you?
