Spring on front calipers

If your 2nd generation caliper is similar to my 2000 one, you need to tuck the caliper into the front of the bracket first. Then you slide rear of caliper into bracket. You also have to slide sleeves that caliper bolts go through back, or you can't slide caliper on. I'm assuming that's the spring your talking about. Their caliper hardware. When your removing caliper, you do this in reverse. Rear first, and so on.
