yep those are the zirk fittings for you to add grease to. i can tell you have been in the mud and water..

i always grease mine up after any off road adventure...

a little grease is alot cheaper than a balljoint

I've read in CHILTON'S that if your going to replace your ball joints ( lower or upper) you HAVE to replace your (upper or lower) control arm. :suicide:

I'm having the same problem with the squeak & instead of dropping a ton of money & time into that fix I read somewhere an easy fix. (Just like you guys are talking about.)

"I just bought a needle grease attachment to put on my hand pump grease gun - it's like a hypodermic meant for injecting grease into 'sealed' ball joints and other steering components by piercing the rubber boot (those without a standard grease fitting). I used the better part of a tube of grease and injected it into the ball joints and any other sealed joints until it was just coming out around the joint - took it for a spin to move the grease around and it completely eliminated the noise." :waytogo:

This weekend I'm going to go buy the attachment & get to work. I'll update ya guys & let ya know how it went.

the first time you replace the uppers you have to replace the control arm with it... atleast thats the way with MOOG their new control arm has a snapring that you can remove and press the ball joint out... it saves you about 20$ if you have to do it again..

as for the lowers you just press them out of the control arm

please check your balljoints and make sure they are still good!!!

the noise may go away but if they are worn out it is just a bandaid

After watching the ending of this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOvLPXFRRvw I realized that a bandaid is all that I can afford. :whymewhyme:

Here's a perfect how to vid to replace the ball joints & control arm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkXYXgWBzSg

There is a couple tools that I don't have or else I'd attempt this project myself. Hopefully one of the neighbors have em...

Uppers are easy. Just replace the whole control arm. Didn't try the lowers. Paid a guy $50 at the stealership to do it on the side.
