It is about to drive me insane:shootout: It does it with every little bump. Ive looked under there but saw nothing but wires. Anyone else ever had this and can give me any insite. Love the truck but squeaks and rattles drive me nuts. Almost to the point of wanting to get rid of the truck.

Hey Eddie...

Check your brake pedal assy. I have been fighting a noise in what I thought was the front suspension. The noise seemed to be coming from the front end and I could feel the vibration in the steering wheel. I went over EVERY moving part in the suspension and could find nothing wrong. I had all but given up when I happen to put my foot on the pedal at just the right time and FELT the rattle in my foot and the same time I heard the squeak. Sure enough my brake pedal assembly is loose and the vibration I was feeling was coming from the brake pedal assy radiating through the firewall to the steering column. Check it out and let me know. I am curious if others are having similar problems. I don't know yet if the assy just needs tightening or if something has broken but I WILL find out this weekend.

Cheers,

-Jay

I have a sound that I hear whe I am turning the steering wheel. It is not a squeak. It is more like a moaning sound. It appears to be coming from the space between the wheel and the column. So far I have been unable to locate and correct the problem. It only happens in the morning when I first back out of the carport.

Its probably a clock spring. It turns with the steering wheel and has a bearing in it. When it wears out it squeeks and it will drive you crazy. You will need to get it replaced to stop the noise. After you get it replaced, when you get in the vehicle, do not pull on the steering wheel. We have found out that this is the biggest cause for this bearing going bad. Try using the grab handles instead. Lubrication will only work for a short time if at all.
