In addition to my Gen 3 Exped, we have a 2010 Escape. I finally got the console out today so I could find the keycode for the entry system. Meanwhile, I saw how 'stained' the silver/gray plastic appeared. I tried a few cleaners and finally used some Dawn detergent......with some steel wool at the kitchen sink.

Like a complete duma**, I scratched it pretty bad. Heck, I was determined to get those stains out. I've probably removed the finish on it now.

Any ideas how to get said stains out?

The right-hand image is where I scrubbed. I can see that the paint is scraped off - my fault. Augh.

The left-hand photo just looks like stains in the paint.

That's how it starts.

This flimsy FoMoCo Silver Plastic paint is kinda notorious

Don't try, you'll fail.
