Hi all,
New to the board. I have just purchased a 2003 Expedition, xlt, fx4. This vechicle is going to be used as my daily driver and tow vechicle when we go to the track. I have used the search feature but can not seem to find any similar posts to the issue i am having. So here we go. The expy has 78000 miles.
While turning, the vechicle will jerk the steering wheel, this issue is more noticable at higher speeds, ie exit/entrance ramps. But it also occuring at lower speeds. I an not familiar with the variable assist rack and pinion could this be the problem. There are no noises when turning. Also i have verified there are no leaks. Has anyone else expirenced this or similar problem? It almost feels as though the power steering is over compensating while under load. This movement will jerk the truck over a foot or 2 rapidily.
FYI the tires are new and were installed at the dealer i purchased the truck from.
