steering wheel controls with older OEM heading?

I've got a 2005 Expy Eddie Bauer with the 6 disc changer in the dash, and steering wheel controls which I love. I also have a Ford (double DIN, same size) head unit from a 2002 van I had before which has the CD and cassette. I want the cassette player to use an iPod adapter, basically to have an AUX plug. Does anyone know if the 02 Ford head units will have the same DIN plug and wiring as the 05 CD changer in the dash so that my steering wheel controls will still work?

I'm trying to find this out before I go to the trouble to pull my head unit out.
