I've got a new one; I've read and searched and can't seem to find much info.
Yesterday afternoon I started the truck and noticed something is wrong. Both turn signal indicator lights are lit constantly and the signals do not function. Also lit solid is the highbeam indicator, and the backlight for the instrument cluster. If I turn on the Highbeams they work, but the indicator light is in reverse, it goes out when the highbeams come on. At the same time the blower motor went off for the front A/C. The rear works, and the compressor turns on and off. I can feel cold air from the vents, but no fan speed control.
So far I've checked the fuses on the interior panel (1 & 23) both are fine. I have also confirmed the bulbs are fine as the hazards work with the ignition is turned off. I have attempted to adjust the steering wheel up to see if it could be the stalk, but that made no change. I was told by the previous owner the stalk had been replaced, so I may take the cover off and see if something is rubbing.
Anybody seen anything like this? Suggestions for things to check?

The plot thickens; if I turn off the AC system, the turn signals begin to work and the instrument panel is back to normal. Though once the fan is turned on the instrument cluster goes nuts.

What you are describing is common with a bad ground. How are you with electrical troubleshooting and following wiring diagrams?

Thanks for the insight! I'm confident reading wiring diagrams, and troubleshoot electronics everyday for work. Know where i can get a good set of wiring schematics to start?

Send a pm to bedrck47 here on the forum. You may end up needing the majority of the diagrams to start off.

I had similar symptoms with bad alternator... Goes along with bad ground. Low voltage is what is causing things to go haywire...

thanks for all the help and direction. There's been another twist!
Today i was taking my daughter to lunch and running the rear AC to keep her comfortable, which means no turn signals. While backing into my garage, attempting to get as much room on the drivers side for later diagnostics, i clipped the garage door frame, knocking off the mirror glass and kicking on the front AC. So obviously this jostled the ground into contact again, which is going to make diagnostics more difficult. I was reading through some of the wiring schematics, specifically ground listing schematics, and see there is a shared ground for the blower motor and turn signals relay that is also shared with the instrument cluster. I think this is likely a good place to start. I'm pretty confident the AC will work right up until someone slams a door...
