My truck doesn't even have heated seats (it's a lowly XLT), has the HD tow package though so there is that.

FYI, you can get an XLT optioned out pretty nicely. My XLT has leather, heated seats (front and rear), sunroof, with the tow package (or at least the trailer brake controller). I call it an Eddie Bauer even though they dropped the Eddie Bauer partnership a couple years prior to my 2014.

Mine has sunroof, and that's about it. I looked it up on carfax and it appears it was a fleet vehicle. Pretty basic interior LOL.
I'd take the heated seats, it's barking cold here lately. Tonight will get down to close to -10, the weatherman says...

The more electric features the more reliance on software and circuits, sensors, etc. The more expensive and difficult to diy unless you have laptop, software, access to updates etc.

Failures tend to cascade across systems. Often leaving the vehicle inoperable or in limp mode. Since the increased use of chips and software to control systems the more complex repairs can be.
The new ailments of electrical gremlins can be a ***** to diagnose.

The manufacturers are helping dealers w their business model which centers around fixed ops.

How many miles on your ecoboost?
Only 30,000 so far.... I’m religious in 3-4 thousand mile oil changes like I’ve always been on every other engine I’ve ever owned. So far so good , it’s still quiet, smooth, and runs and pulls like a train. I can only hope it won’t disappoint me on reliability, but it sure has thrilled me in the power department.

They dropped the ball on losing the Eddie Bauer scheme. I love this interior.

what are all the dots/bumps on the center console sides and on the control panel? Mine are smooth. Just curious.....

I’m not sure. I believe the previous owner worked out of the Expedition in North Dakota and there was a work platform installed here- like something you’d see in a cop car. The “dots” are plugs for the various holes. The carpet right there is also cut- which would give access to the floor mount. There are probably holes drilled in the floor too. The front of the Expedition was missing tow hooks which leads me to believe there was a brush guard installed. In the oil fields, brush guards are used to push open gates without getting out. My front bumper cover is also cracked- possibly hit the gate too hard in the winter when the plastic is fragile. And the underside of the Expedition has lots of signs of spending a bunch of time off pavement and running 2-tracks.

At least, that’s what I’ve been able to come up with......

Heated seats are ok but i havent found them to be a replacement for a large engine. We're supposed to be warming up to -10 this week.
The 5.4 V8 seems to still be able to keep the interior cooking at -40, which im not used to after having a focus for 11 years.

If anyone sees a chrome shifter trim ring in salvage that’s perfect, grab it for me if it’s cheap. I guess the previous owner flexed mine too much doing stereo swap. Foil is all rippled. Anyone planning to wrap or spray color there’s, swap with me your good chrome one first, lol. I’ll peel and prep this one for you.

If my stereo & hvac buttons weren’t chrome trimmed, I black out the shifter and cup holder chrome on mine.
