ok here is a question for you stereo guys. yesterday my bass decided to stop working. i have a remote bass knob on my dash. the amp seems to still have power(led lit on amp) checked all the wires. none loose. when i pull the remote wire out and its at a certain point the subs hit once or twice but not to the beat of the music. any ideas what it could be? TIA

here is a link to what system looks like

check fuses...under hood and in car...you'd have to trace all wiring to see if anything is loose and pinched...secure points on connections..since you'll get sound with moving wire

buddy has the same problem with his subs in his truck. haha volt meter on the out puts of the amp. then turn something on you know hits. see if the meter moves. if it does then you have power coming out the amp. if not check all rcas. make sure they are all connected. have good connections. nothing is disconnected and/or corroded.

Could be a grounding issue. Make sure your ground wire from the amp is secure and connected at point where it touches bare metal. I used the rear seat mount bracket for mine. Unbolted the seat and ground some paint off and ran the bolt back though. Also wouldn't hurt to get a ground loop isolator of you don't have already. RCAs can make for a problem as well. Just check all the wiring and be safe lol

Ok, I have had this problem in my Malibu, it is usually because my amp gets too hot and will turn itself off. Once it cools down, my subs come back on.
