I have a 98 Expedition and the back end is sagging. I can hear the compressor coming on; however it seems to be making a lot of noise and fails to lift the back. It also turns on randomly when I am driving. Please advise...anyone??

Do a search for air bags on the forum.

Since that system is so expensive to repair, it seems like most people use the Strutmaster's kit to change out the air bags to regular springs.

Yeah a regular spring system is very easy and nice. I do minimal towing and have no bags and 10 year old stock springs with nearley any sag at all!

I replaced the air compressor on mine, the compressor alone was over $600 bucks. Before you invest in a compressor make sure that you don't have an air leak. Leaks are responsible for burning out a lot of compressor's, the compressor overheats and melts.
