This afternoon I replaced front and rear sway bar bushings in my '08. It was 30 degrees out, but the hollow droning clunking sounds lead me to think it was time. The bar seemed to be moving around in the front bushings' enlarged holes. The roads are horrible here and these things wear out. When they're bad you get "old car" noises.
The front bushings are all the same size. Apparently there were several size rear sway bars on these trucks; mine were 19mm.
The key is to unbolt both sides so you can drop the bar down and get the old bushings out.
Let's see if that annoying sound is gone.
