Sync 4A WiFi issue?

I really think it has not fully loaded yet. I”m Desperate to be right . I drove it this morning then a few hours ago went out and made sure i had a good wifi signal on it in my garage. It looked weak so i rebooted it and had a good signal. Im going out in it again in a couple of hours…fingers crossed!

@jjscsix trust me, i get it, but i dont think it is very much... looks to be mainly just a bug fix update.. i really hope im wrong too tho. lol i asked my contact on their engineer/ OTA team but i think they are fed up with me, just telling me to have it looked at by a dealer if i think i am missing any functionality.

Well, when it specifically says that today you will see major changes to the look of your screen, there is no ambiguity to that. So far has it not come through, but maybe it is an over air thing at the time i have it set to do updates. I have mine set to 1:00am every night.

Bottom line is that Ford sucks at technology. Why people with 2023s were getting it seven months ago and I still don't have it is pathetic. And as I have said many times, mine has had many glitches of things not working right.

Still not loaded this morning.
yeah I did some research last night and found multiple comments from people on this forum that said they didn’t get any UI or big changes like the camera button until the 4.2.2.2 update.

I am sitting at a coffee shop (retirement is a wonderful thing) and just looked at my app. A message showed up on the main screen that was not there last time i looked yesterday. It says “update complete”.

Im not in the Expedition today, but will be interested to take a look at it when my wife gets home from work today. This gives me new hope.

Yeah, let’s hope! I don’t see anything so far on mine. But when you click on the update complete message- what does it say? Should give you the ford power up update number and some more release notes

@jjscsix @Flathead40 So after talking again with my rep at ford ( he called to check up on me, awww lol) i explained what we three were going through with the latest 4.2.2.1 update and he explained either the update didnt install correctly and needs to be reflashed and installed again, or this update is a big update that Ford has separated into two parts with 4.2.2.2 being the second half of the update to finish out the full big update which would be everything that it is saying in the release notes we got.. we are going to wait and see if i get the 4.2.2.2 and if that changes anything otherwise he i think will recommend having a dealership look at it to confirm there are not faults or anything..

Ill try to post a screenshot of my app. When you click on > it shows the same as what i got on the Synch 4 screen explaining “whats in this update”

No change!!!

For the life of me I don't understand how they can tell me in the app and in the vehicle that i should be seeing several changes but Im not!

I will be calling Ford Customer Service in the next few days. Im totally disgusted over this. I have been in a friends Expedition that got this update about eight months ago and i have seen the changes.

After some research it seems like 4.2.2.1 gave the new UI to those in early access. While everyone else gets the changes in 4.2.2.2 which should come shortly afterwards. Ford just has incorrect release notes for non EAP folks. I’m just happy to see updates finally flowing as they should have 6 months ago. There is a whole another set of updates after the UI change (5.x series) which include other enhancements and module updates.

I did call Ford Customer Service today. His answer to some degree was nonsensical. I read him what my screen said about the update and that i should be seeing many changes on the screen. He said it was probably an update that had already been done to the vehicle before it was built or some such nonsense and that the new screen that I talked about was just the screen that most of them got….. well before mine was built.

I know that makes no sense and it didn’t make any sense to me either. I asked him repeatedly why people were getting an update that had significant differences to the screen eight months ago that I still have not gotten. There is no answer to that question. he told me that now that the updates started flowing, I should be getting the latest update in the next few weeks.

Ours just pulled 8GB down in the last hour from the wifi, here comes 4.2.2.2

Can confirm ours just got 4.2.2.2 tonight and it has the new UI.

So this is about how bizarre my luck is going. When I got up this morning, both my app, and the vehicle itself showed the 4.2.2.2 update, and then it disappeared just as quickly as it appeared.

CRAAAP!!! I haven’t gotten it yet!! But I’ve also been sick and haven’t driven anywhere which I’ve learned you sometimes have to drive for about 30 mins to get the battery charged up before it will initiate an update..

I remote started it this morning to get it to connect to WiFi, but sounds like I need to go on a drive and see if I can prompt an update.

Ford better not screw me on this!!!

You should call Ford Customer Service and complain. I have called them three times in the past seven months. They have always answered the phone within a few minutes and are very professioanal. The more complaints they get the better.
