Sync quirks...tips and tricks?

So carplay has to be completely disabled in settings to view the weather app? You can’t just pop out of carplay and check the weather?

Different weather apps. XM Weather I think works with CarPlay active, I don’t use it very often, cause my phone gives me more info. Phone based Sync apps like Accuweather will NOT work with CarPlay/AA active.

I’m not able to bring up ANY sync apps if my iPhone is connected. I like having the weather map up on the display...I can’t even access ‘mobile apps’ in sync when my phone is plugged in

That appears to be the case. I honestly thought you could bring up XM Weather app, but you can’t. CarPlay is attached, that is it.

Obviously you have never driven a BMW, Audi, or Mercedes?

Ford has a decent amount of Tech for domestic, but you would lose it in a Modern German SUV.

The cockpit display screen on the Q7 that I test drove before buying the Expy was insane. The Full screen Navigation blew me away. I'm sure there was a ton more of things that was available that a 10-15 minute test drive did not show.

1) XM/mobile apps (weather etc) seem to disappear once your phone is plugged in?

-operating as designed

2) favorites/preset list of stations can only be from a single source (as opposed to a merged favorites list)

3) the preset/favorites screen locks you into an endless loop of only 6 stations. Using the ‘next’ button only brings you to the ‘next’ station but won’t move to the ‘next screen’ when you’re on the 6th station.

4) voice search. Seems that if your phone is plugged in the ‘voice’ button wakes Siri as opposed to the sync search. Is there a way to keep Siri from being the default assistant when a phone is plugged in?

-operating as designed other than one user whose system allows to switch between Siri/sync based on length of voice button press
