Tailgate ajar alarm

2008 XLT

Tailgate ajar alarm has started going off randomly and dinging the alarm. I sprayed some WD40 in the latch but didn't do anything. I would be willing to bypass switch or snip wires if it was a fix for the annoying alarm.? I have other ways to tell if the door is open.;-)

The door ajar switch is integral to the door latch itself. You can replace it and fix it right for $100 . That's what I would do.

Yes, at 500,000 I'm trying not to spend anything on it if possible as I don't likely have long to recoup my investment.;-)

$100 isn't an "investment". Here in the States we call that a tank of gas.
