What should the AIT -air intake temp be? should this be what temp the air is coming through air filter? also normal trans temp? Thanks

yesterday when driving on the freeway i was getting about 108-110. that was about 2-3pm and about 80-90 outside. at around 7-8pm it went down to 84-86 and it was about 75 out. i really looking forward to the gotts-baker mod. i know if i can get the engine to breathe in all that cold air that we feel with the windows down it would be much better.
as for trans temp im wondering the same thing.

The trans temp should be kept in the neighborhood of 180 degrees as I recall. Going less than that doesn't really help with longevity. But, getting above say 200F, you can almost see the life of the tranny getting shorter. Take a look at this webpage (http://www.txchange.com/heatchrt.htm). This gives you an idea of what hot tranny oil can do to the life of your tranny. Please pay special attention to the mileage scale at the top of the chart. Even a single excursion to say 275F tranny oil will more than likely limit the overall life of your tranny to another 5000 miles. So, cool fluid is key at ALL TIMES!!!!!!

my AIT is usually close to the outside air temp... higher when idling but cooler when driving... and my trans temp usually is around 190-193 with it maxing out once at 202... well thats what the record high was...

Thanks for all the help and input the temps..I wonder if something like this would help keep the temps down...I have the factory trans cooler but this looks a little bigger with a dedicated fan?
