Jay, you need a minimum of 3000 CFM of air. If you have 2200 CFM from each fan, then you are golden as that would make for 4400 CFM total.

On a side note, you want to make the fans a puller, not a pusher. If you need me to explain that, I will. This is better overall since you get more air flow and the fans are protected from things flying in through the grill. taking a stab in the dark with that fan, you can anticipate a fair amount of noise from the fan. When it comes to fans, you can only have 2 of three things (low current, low noise, high air flow). You have the high air flow and you have the low current. But being under the hood, shouldn't be that big of an issue. You will also need to be very precise with mounting the fans. 16's are as big as you can go and it is going to be a tight fit as others have experienced. I know my 14's fit comfortably and there was not a lot of extra room.

I am seeing these fans rather inexpensive but the cost seems to be the controller

jay, like I have said, you will get what you pay for. yes, some of the controllers can get expensive.

Just for reference, see this controller:

New Flex -A- Lite Adjustable Electric Fan Temperature Control Kit, Thermostat | eBay

DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!!!!!! JUNK!!!!!!!!!!! These are the wire wound ones that a lot of people buy because they are cheap. But, like I started things out with, you get what you pay for.

Something like this would be what you are after:
Dakota Digital Electric Fan Controller 150-250 Deg F | eBay
That has the dual fan controls. Yo ucan set up one fan to kick on at say 200F and the other at 210F. You can play with the settings some. The big trick with this is figuring out how to get a good temp sender for the unit and getting it into the coolant channel. I am sure with a little bit of looking, you can make something work.

This is similar to what I have in my truck (the only difference is that I have a temp bulb on the end vice the screw in piece that this has):
HAYDEN 3651 Electric Fan Controls | eBay
10 years and still ticking. Works like a champ. Simple to wire up and set up. I set mine up by driving it out on the highway with the controller out where I could adjust it, drove for about 5 miles with the engine at temp, pulled off to the side, adjusted the controls to get the fan to kick on, noted the spot, dialed it up to kick the fan off, then dialed it back down to just above where the fan kicked on. Repeated this for the second controller, but this time I set the controller slightly higher so the fans kick on at 2 different temps.

This should give you some ideas. If you need more help, let me know. I will help you get this figured out.
