Hey what's going on guys new here to this forum. Ill start off by saying love my expedition. I have a 97 k&n cai flowmaster 40series and jl subs inside. Love the sound. I have a question though whenever I pop my hood I can never ignore my throttle cable it looks loose I can tell there is a lot of slack in it. I was wondering if anyone here ever has replaced they're cable. I've replaced my heater core done all my wiring for stereo and did the simple cai but I was wondering how much of a difference if any a new cable would give. If you've done a throttle cable on your expy let me know. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Are you sure there a lot of slack in the cable, or are you missing a clip or mount point? It's possible that someone did work in the past and simply didn't put that cable back correctly.

Maybe we can compare pics of you think that's a possibility.

I replaced my throttle cable because I had to when I did my conversion with one from a lightning. It is simple job to do.

Have someone press the pedal to the floor and see if the throttle is fully open. If it is I would not worry about it. Are you sure you are not looking at the cruise control cable? It has a fair amount of slack in it at the throttle and this is normal.

No I'm not missing a clamp or a mounting point I've followed the wire and checked it all. Right where it locks onto the throttle body it doesn't hug the groove on the mount, if that makes sense, I've seen video of people zip tying the slack up but I don't want to Jerry rig it. And it's not the cruise control cable. Where did you buy your cable at and how much?
