Hey guys. New to the site. We have a 2016 expy EL XLT with 130k on it. Recently and super intermittently from a stop it will accelerate like normal but when it goes to shift into second gear maybe its like the throttle doesnt do anything, let of the gas and press it again and it goes. When i say intermittent i just drove from Ohio to florida and back and it did it once to me. Is this a tell tale sign the TPS is going bad? We also have another issue i think isnt related where the trans doesnt seem to know what to do. Like it will randomly downshift or shift hard. Once again thats super intermittent as well. Hoping someone might have some insight before i go down some rabbit holes. Thanks all!!!

Ford had issued a TSB a long time ago involving potentially defective throttle body units (not a safety recall), which involved replacing the unit.

You may want to clean the inside of the throttle body and/or consider changing it with a new Motorcraft unit?

Here is a link to a video on how to replace it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr4CX8sNUns

Ill take a peek at it. Thanks for the insight! Also to add im NOT getting any codes

If I recall correctly, the TSB applied to the 2015 - 2017 Expedition models, with a specific code set. I don’t have a link to it.

I was worried the TB would fail on my 2015 Expedition Limited based upon a lot of auto forum complaints about the TB for those years. I drove it 119,*** miles and it never failed.
