Im looking to buy a 22+ expedition and I was wondering if there is any actual mechanical differences between the standard output and the high output like the SPP or Timberline?

The only hard data I have been able to find is some pre-production tech sheet but it is pretty vague. I can't find any indication that there is any difference aside from different tuning. 380hp to 440hp would indicate to me there is some pretty sizable differences but maybe im just used to a naturally aspirated world.

Does anyone have any hard data either way?

Thanks!

I recall a previous thread discussing this. The HO got bigger exhaust possibly different manifold? to deal with heat buildup. I think it was sorted out that the heavier cooling setup was likely also on the HO setup. I can’t recall the final bit where folks were trying to sort out parts differences internally like rods or crank shafts, timing chain guides that sort of thing.

Do a search I do recall a pretty good discussion with multiple people digging into parts numbers trying to decode the differences

the compression ratio is supposed to be different. Whereas the HO has lower compression vs the regular 3.5L EcoBoost. On the SPP and the Timberline the 3.73 rear is standard same as the dual exhaust tips. The red calipers on the SPP are just painted red.

The Timberline and SPP will have additional cooling fans on the intercooler, also. It's pretty much the same setup as the Raptor, except with a smaller diameter exhaust system.
